It is what it is. It's quality, inexpensive, and doesn't break apart as easy as other brands I have used, which is a good thing. You're not left with a mess of small pieces and dust when you use it.

Just a warning - the lids shown in the stock photo are fabric vented... what is included in the kit are vented (non fabric) lids. My local provider used the fabric lids and I have had great success with those, so we'll see how things go when I try my own cultures since local supplies aren't consistent. I know the vented lids are written up as a better choice for most environments but I would have liked to have had a choice. Even if the fabric lids are more expensive, I would have paid the little extra to have what I know works for me. But overall the kit is a nice option to have everything you need all together and everything is clean and nicely packaged. Looking forward to making some flies of my own. Thanks

This kit and accompanying instructions makes culturing fruit flies easy, painless, and out of the way in a small apartment. Product arrived soaking wet from rain, but the kit was so well-packaged that the flies and accessories were nice and dry.

the 32oz culture cups are pretty chintzy they fall apart with very little force, I tried to put the lid on and it crumpled.The rest of the materials were great
